Just one cup of that seasonal favorite can set you back 343 calories, and that’s only if you stop there!
With the majority of annual weight gain accumulating between Thanksgiving and New Years, it’s always a good idea to find healthy alternatives to the classic holiday treats. While Eggnog does have some nutritional value, the 19 grams of fat (11g saturated) and 21 grams of sugar it contains far outweigh any benefit.
Give our healthy version a shot this Christmas!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 2 cups skim milk
- 1/2 cup egg beaters (or any substitute)
- 1/2 cup fat free creamer
- 2 tablespoons splenda
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 1/2 tablespoon nutmeg
Just mix everything together really well and drop it into the refrigerator for 3-4 hours and enjoy!
One serving is approximately 150 calories with only 5 grams of fat.
