Dr. Andrea Gorman is a registered dietitian and has worked in the health and wellness field for 20 years. Andrea received a PhD in Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Wellness from Arizona State University (ASU) while receiving the “Outstanding Graduate Student” award. While at ASU, Andrea taught nutrition courses and conducted research in the areas of weight loss, diabetes, and exercise.
Andrea has 16 years of professional experience consulting with a variety of individuals, clinics, agencies, and corporations as well as serving as a regional dietetic association president. She has worked with professional athletes, firefighters and sport teams providing nutritional counseling and developing wellness programs. Andrea has 14 years of college and university teaching experience. She is passionate about nutrition and health and enjoys working with a variety of individuals with diverse needs.
Andrea has expertise in weight management, diabetes, family and worksite nutrition, heart disease, osteoporosis, eating disorders and sports nutrition. Andrea is Co-Director and Associate Professor of the Health Promotion and Wellness PhD Program at Rocky Mountain University. Andrea continues to teach nutrition and wellness courses at Chandler Gilbert Community College and Phoenix College. She has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals such as Journal of American Dietetic Association, Journal of Clinical Nutrition, Osteoporosis International, and Journal of Health Promotion.
